Automated Outbound Calls
Outbound calls are those which are made by the call center agents to the customers to generate leads and make online sales or collect debts etc. These outbound calls as made by the agents are very important for the company’s point of view as these alone ensure that the business companies be successfully able to launch their products, promote them in a very wide area and sell them online getting maximum return on the investment.
The rapid advancement in the field of communication and information technology led to the use of IVR or Interactive voice response technology which permits the system or computer to take all inbound calls and answer them properly going through the data base of the company or directly transfer the call to the more competent person who can satisfactorily resolve the customer’s issue. The call center uses specific software applications for making Automated Outbound Calls. These may be in the form of special messaging service or recorded voice played to the different customers. This way of making automated outbound calls saves money for the Call Centers. However these automated calls can be a great nuisance to the customers sometimes if they are unsolicited and undesired. Making automated outbound calls can be very useful and important in medical Call Centers where the patients have to be reminded of the next appointments with the doctors. The messages can be sent to the patients either in voice or textual form to eliminate the possibility of cancelling of appointments. Thus these automated services can be used successfully in particular areas or fields of business. However a number of companies use it for sending unsolicited marketing messages to the people being a great nuisance more often. |
