The call centers' major tasks include the help desk service, lead generation, making online sales, order taking, setting appointments, debt collection, taking market surveys and performing some back-end process for the company.

One of the most challenging tasks of call center is to make online sales and collection of debts from the customers. There may be a number of challenges involved in making online sales. Some of them may be like convincing the customers about the suitability of the product which matches with the specific demands of the customer, explaining the salient features and benefits of the product or services being offered by the company etc. The customer may or may not prefer to make a deal with the call center agent for purchasing the products or he may like to take more time to decide leaving the agent in lurch.
The customer has a plenty of choices and preferences but the agents have to ensure that the customer buys only from his company which makes the task more challenging. Even in the help desk services it is quite challenging to handle such a large number of calls from the customers. When the customer happens to make the calls second or third time as the problem could not be resolved at the first instance then the agents find handling such calls of irate and vexed customers highly challenging and troublesome.

Debt collection services also have their own challenges as it is not easy for the agents to collect the debts from the defaulting and clever customers who often pose serious hindrances in this way.
