Sonam Kapoor Promotes Her Film in Rajasthan

Sonam Kapoor visited Rajasthan for promoting her upcoming movie “Khoobsurat”. The movie was entirely shot in Rajasthan and the Director Shashanka Ghosh had selected some exotic locations of Rajasthan for the film. The film also stars Fawad Khan in the lead and Ratna Pathak Shah in one of the pivotal characters. The film which is considered as an official remake of a cult movie “Khoobsurat” directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee is originally an inspired version. Thus, the director and the entire unit are not ready for any kind of comparison with the original movie. The original movie had Rekha and Rakesh Roshan in the lead.

The upcoming “Khoobsurat” has been produced by Anil Kapoor and her daughter Rhea Kapoor. The film has been co-produced by Walt Disney and will be released worldwide on 19th September 2014. Sonam explained that they wanted to start their promotions from Rajasthan, because they have shot the movie here and they wanted to connect with the localities. Sonam has expressed her desire to gorge on the street foods of Rajasthan and she is keeping her fingers crossed for the movie.

Fawad Khan who is debuting with this movie is really expecting big success and he expressed his desire to work with Sonam again and again. Sonam and the entire crew of Khoobsurat is expecting to visit entire India, for the promotion of their movie. Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Pune, Bangalore are some of the cities they want to visit during the promotions.

Aamir Khan’s PK Shot in Rajasthan

We all know that Aamir Khan is known as Bollywood’s perfectionist. He is known for new inventions and playing new characters in all his movies. The great news is, the actor is ready with his next release ‘PK’. The film is directed by Raj Kumar Hirani of “3 Idiots” fame and has been shot in capital Delhi and in pink city Jaipur in Rajasthan.

Like every movie of Aamir Khan, this movie has also created lots of buzz and the plot of the movie has kept under wrapped. Audiences have no clue regarding the plot of the movie. The movie also stars Anushka Sharma and Shushant Singh Rajput in prominent roles.

As the reports suggest, Asmir has been shot for the, movie in several locations of Rajasthan and famous actor Sanjay Dutthas shot for a cameo in the film. The combination of Raj Kumar Hirani and Aaamir Khan has created magic on celluloid with the movie ‘3 Idiots’ and here we are expecting another superb performance from perfectionist actor Mr.Aamir Khan.

‘PK’ is one of the most awaited movies of 2014. Recently, the first look of the movie has released and it is showing a nude picture of Aamir Khan holding a tape-recorder at front. Though, several media and social organizations have already started criticizing the poster, but Aamir has received heap of praises from his colleagues in B-Town.

According to reports, Aamir has said that the poster is one of the cinematic expressions and audiences and critics should wait till the movie gets released. Like other movie lovers, we all are also eagerly waiting to explore the movie and counting days.

Paheli’! Rajasthani Folklore on Celluloid

How many people remembered the official entry of 79th Academy Awards? Yes, we are discussing Amol Palekar’s ‘Paheli’ starting Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukherjee. Soon, the film is going to complete 10 years of its release. Here in this blog, we are paying tribute to the movie congratulating the entire cast and crew of ‘Peheli’.

The movie was entirely shot in different locations in Rajasthan. Director Amol Palekar tried to capture the rural Rajasthan on celluloid. He showed desserts, palaces and villages of Rajasthan and the story was basically taken from one of the popular folklores. The movie was critically acclaimed but failed to mark its strong presence at Box Office.

Paheli was Bollywood’s first fantasy movie and the film also stared Amitabh Bachchan, Juhi Chawla, Anupam Kher is most prominent roles. The film is a visual treat for the audiences and Amol Palekar was successful to show Rajasthan in such beautiful way.

Shah Rukh Khan played double roles in the movie opposite Rani Mukherjee. According to some reports, the movie was a remake of a Hindi film named ‘Duvidha’, which was released in 1973. Though ‘Paheli’ was not an official remake but it managed to walk on the same line of ‘Duvidha’. The film was produced under the banner of Red Chillies, which is Shah Rukh Khan’s production house.

The most interesting part in this movie is that it starts with narrating voices by Naseeruddin Shah and Ratna Pathak Shah. The film was a breeze of fresh air and it got so much of appreciation from the critics.

The movie is going to complete its 10 years of release and we expect that along with critical appreciations these type of movies starts getting praises from the Indian Audiences as well.

Sonam Kapoor Shot Her New Film in Rajasthan

Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s classic film ‘Khoobsurat’ has been remade by Shashanka Ghosh of ‘Quick Gun Murugan’ fame. The film has been shot in beautiful palaces of Rajasthan. Recently the trailer of the film has released and it stars Sonam Kapoor in the lead. The film also stars Pakistani Heartthrob Fawad Khan and Ratna Pathak Shah.

The original film had Rekha in the lead and Rakesh Roshan played the male lead opposite Rekha. New ‘Khoobsurat’ is produced by Anil Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor. According to some sources, the entire unit of the film has shot over a month in various locations of Rajasthan. The locations were Amber, Jaipur and Udaipur Palaces. Report suggests that the entire crew has enjoyed a lot during the film shoot and they have explored several places in Rajasthan.

Recently, in a micro blogging site Sonam Kapoor has written; “Schedule wrap of Khoobsurat!!!! 50 days nonstop in Rajasthan!! 95 percent of the film done!!!

Handsome Fawad Khan has also said that it is his pleasure to be a leading man opposite The Diva Sonam Kapoor. The film is ready to release this September 2014. After the release of the trailer audiences’ expectation is riding high. Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s ‘Khoobsurat’ is a cult film and people loved the film by heart.

The film is a tale of an extrovert, feisty girl who brings several changes in the suffocative atmosphere of a household. The plot and the screenplay was the main hero in Rekha’s Khoobsurat. Hope Sonam does the same justice to her character and may the film turn out to be a blockbuster.

Earlier, Yash Chopra the legendary filmmaker had chosen the state for classic films like Lamhe. Famous actors like Waheeda Rehman, Anil Kapoor and Sridevi has acted in the film. After so many years Boney Kapoor has ideated to shoot his forthcoming film “Tevar”. The film is going to be the first venture between Arjun Kapoor and his producer father Boney Kapoor. The film also stars Sonakshi Sinha in lead.

Reports suggest that the lead actors from the film have thoroughly enjoyed in the beautiful locals of Rajasthan. The film is going to be released in January next year. The film is a co-production of Sanjay Kapoor, uncle of Arjun Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor. “Tevar” is directed by famous director Amit Sharma and it promises to be a visual treat for audience. The director of the film says that they have captured Rajasthan in such unique way that it will be a treat for the people of Rajasthan to explore their state on screen.

Recently in an interview, Arjun Kapoor has said that he loved gorging on the local delicacies of Rajasthan. Not only Arjun, Sonakshi is also a foodie in nature and has said that she dumped her strict diet while shooting in Rajasthan. The film will also have popular actor Manoj Bajpai in a prominent role and after long time, the actor is going to be seen in such masala movie.

This is the first time Sonakshi Sinha will be seen opposite Arjun Kapoor and they have bonded well during the shoots. ‘Tevar’ is an official remake of a Telegu movie named ‘Okkadu’. The story of the film is written by Gunashekhar. Apart from Rajasthan the film shoots have done in Mumbai and Agra.

‘Padharo Maare Desh’ – The Royalty of Rajasthan

It will be hard not to find a Zari embroidery piece at any of the connoisseurs of art in India and probably abroad too. The preludes of the Rawan Haththa, the folk songs of the kings and the royals, the Kalbeliya – welcome to Rajasthan. The state of the Rajputs is a lot of the most culturally rich patches of the world. This part of India has no dearth of entertainment but surly those of the kinds deep rooted to their soil.

Entertainment has always been multi layered all through the ages in this state. Right from the royal entertainment of ‘shikhaar’ (read hunting games), which has been thankfully banned now, to the cluster of villagers dancing and singing the folklores, till the colorful dresses, Rajasthan has always been vibrant.

There are villages set up which cater to all the goodness of the state. One of them is certainly ‘Chowkidhaani’. The village with an actual set up is a tourist hotspot with most of the delicacies and cultural heritage of the state punched into a limited space. This was in a way necessary for the history that Rajasthan carries; it would actually take a life time to know of such greatness.

There is hardly any art enthusiast who might have missed the majestic forts with beautiful carvings alike to its plethora of temples and other architectural masterpieces. Each of those stones holds a heritage, a story to its being and a tale to its existence. It’s is surely not on the list of things that could be missed before we perish. Listen to folklores, they sing a story of the royals who ruled these terrains and beyond.
