This article states entrance exams which are of All India level (National level) and as well as the State level exams to be given by the students after the 12th board exam for their career further.

The student’s after giving their board exams can appear in different exams for different career like Engineering, Architecture or Medical.

Engineering

For pursuing career in engineering, students have to give JEE Main entrance exam which is the National level entrance exam which is conducted by CBSE after class 12th for admission in NITs, IIITs and centrally funded institutions like IIST. A candidate will only be able to go further for admission if he/she will be able to clear JEE Main. After scoring a good rank in JEE Main students will be capable of giving the next exam for admission in engineering colleges which is JEE Advanced.

JEE advanced is the second entrance exam for the students who have successfully scored rank in JEE Mains. Admission is granted to all UG engineering and other programs offered at IIITs in India and ISM Dhanbad. There are 2 exams of 3 hours each. The question paper will be in both English and Hindi. The paper will also be divided into three sections Physics, chemistry and Mathematics.

There are many more entrance exam for admissions like BITSAT and VITEEE.

  • BITSAT– BITSAP stands for Birla Institute of Technology and Science which is an admission test after class 12th for securing admission in the engineering degree courses at the BITS campuses situated in Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad. It is a computer based online entrance exam after 12th

for admissions in Pharmacy, engineering and other courses. Applications will be out in the month of December and online tests will be held in the month of May.

  • VITEEE– VITEEE (Vellore Institute of Technology conducts the Engineering Entrance Test), it is an entrance exam after 12th for the students to secure admissions for various B Tech Degree programs. Online applications will be available in December and exam will be held in the month of March.

Architecture

The only easy way to get admission in Architecture is to clear the NATA entrance exam. NATA (National aptitude in architecture) is entrance exam to secure admission for B Arch courses in India in private as well as Government colleges of Architecture. Candidates seeking admissions in architecture can apply for the exam in the month of March.  After clearing the exam the candidates have to apply to individual architecture colleges for the counseling. It is to be noted that there is no common counseling for NATA.

What to expect in NATA exam?

Students preparing for NATA must know that NATA measures the drawing as well as observation skills. The question paper is designed to check students sense of proportion, aesthetic sensitivity and critical thinking ability.

Medical

For students seeking admission in medical to take their career further they can apply for the various exams to secure their admissions:

  • National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Exam for Under Graduate (NEET- UG): It is an All India Level Exam for admission in all the Government Colleges across the country.
  • Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) Entrance Exam
  • AIIMS MBBS
  • AIPVT and many more exams
